“Young people need the freedom to learn, work and play in a safe environment”
A large proportion of the existing population of Afghanistan is under the age of 24. These young people, have only known the upheaval of war and poverty and have not been able to tap into their own potential to help their country.
Safe havens, peace playgrounds and tournaments, sports training facilities and schools of excellence for women, as well as men, are all within the scope of what the Zaher Shah Foundation would like to help achieve.

Allowing young people the freedom to learn, work and play in a safe environment gives them the chance to dream and ultimately plan for a better future for themselves and Afghanistan.
The Zaher Shah Foundation is working towards establishing youth training centres, initially through already established charities throughout Afghanistan. These youth training schemes will offer scholarships and sports activities to athletes and from all over Afghanistan.
The focus of these centres and programs is to give young people opportunities which will enable them to help their country grow peacefully.
